How to make a Tyvek Wallet DYNOMIGHTY
There is a little textiles gem in Berkeley called Lacis Museum of Lace and Textiles, where you can find beautiful lace, variety of notions and trims, see incredible historical items, tools, records, books, and patterns. The website and the online store are scary of course, but the museum is really worth a visit if you are a crafter and a rare textiles appreciator. It is in a row of antique stores, hidden by the large traffic of the Adeline St. The textiles collection is sustained by the little store in the same building that is really impressive in the detail and depth of the inventory.
I discovered the work of the chinese designer Ma Ke while watching a fashion documentary Useless by Jia Zhangke. The websites are a bit painful to use (her studio and haute couture site) so I prefer to view the images on the V&A Museum for seeing the form, mood and aesthetic. Since it is hard to find a lot of coverage on her work, I will point to the film as the best source to see the design process, development of the collection concepts and textiles.
